Hello friend,
A slight gasp slipped through my lips. The morning sun appeared— later than usual as the days shortened—not in the east, but in the west.
As crazy as the world may seem, the Earth had not spun out of control twisting our perspective of north, south, east, and west.
No, I caught a glint of light through the windows as the morning sun rose above the horizon from its usual perch, casting a beam of light onto the lake. An untranslatable Italian word, gibigianna, expresses the play of light reflected from water or a mirror, a “water twinkle.”
Light brightens, illuminates, exposes, glimmers, glows, gleams, refracts, shines, sparkles, and shimmers.
I looked up. The full harvest moon lingered in the west, its light fading against the brightening sky.
I turned around. The Earth had turned, night became day. Light flickered through the trees. Another day, a gift to do good, smile, spread joy and kindness.
When I was growing up, we didn’t have night lights or closet fixtures to scare away the darkness. The only light came from the moon beaming through the open windows, filling the darkness to comfort me.
Light, sunlight, moonlight, in all its forms, fills me with a lightness I carry throughout the day. Darkness may be good for sleeping, but I need a room, a day, full of glorious rays of hope.
I wish for you days overflowing with awe and light.
To find the light, I have no other choice—I must open the door.
Ryan Brolliar inspires us to see the light, be the light.
Light-filled music: Love Shine a Light by Katrina and the Waves, Shine a Light by the Rolling Stones, and a favorite, You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone.
When day comes we ask ourselves,
“where can we find light in this never-ending shade?” . . .
There is always light.
If only we’re brave enough to see it.
If only we’re brave enough to be it.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to forward this weekly note to someone who would enjoy a few words of inspiration.
Or if you received this from a friend and want to receive my weekly post,
I liked the word “gibigianna”!
Hope to do more water shots where I can use that word to describe it 😉.
Thanks for all you do and share!
