Lovely post, Kathryn. I'm familiar with most of the books you mention (although not The Little Car ... book. You stirred up many happy memories of mainly my children's early years and then my grandchildren. They were particularly fond of The Very Hungry Caterpillar as this was one of the books that got read repeatedly. As a child, I had a wonderful Illustrated Heidi book and two books that I was given for merit in my primary school, which I was so proud of. One was Cinderella - a giant book, and the other was Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. I still have them tucked away upstairs and don't think I'll ever part with them. Born into a family who didn't have much, these books were my pride and joy. Thanks for sharing this delightful post x
