Here in Swedish speaking Finland, the 14th is Friendship Day (rather than Valentine’s Day). In Australia we never really did anything in school for it. When I was at kindergarten in Canada I remember making cards for everyone in class but not in Australia. Certainly a cultural thing - also it’s the start of the school year in Australia so maybe there are too many other things to focus on.

I feel like the day has been over commercialised with too much focus on buying things.

I like your focus here on friendship - a vital ingredient in lasting love. Friendships can be made at any stage of life, can be lifelong or short. Friends make life so much better 🥰✨

We all want and need friends—those who travel with us through life. Some stroll with us for a season and others stay on the edges but are only a text or phone call away. You may even have a forever friend who never laughs at you and always, always, stands by you.

Friendship is a gift.

Friendship begins with me. The more I take care of myself and accept myself, the more I care for others. I give space to being our truest and best selves.

Every day should celebrate kindness and friendship. Wouldn’t that make for beautiful gardens around the world?

And kind hearts too.

I was poor and always hungry as a child, but I was happy. Lol. I do miss many childhood moments, some days I would go back. Other days, nope.
